Myoats - quick image creation web app

While investigating ways to anti-alias text in FireFox I came across myoats which is a web app is designed to make the creation of pattern/fractal style imagery super simple. You can have something that looks relatively impressive in a matter of seconds but if you spend a bit more time then the possibilities are almost endless...

Who needs Photoshop!

I stumbled accross this web app last night and I am honestly impressed. It's what you would probably call a web version of a 'lite' Photoshop, it supports, layers, transparency and all the standard tools, even some of the PS keyboard shortcuts! You can either upload an image or even point to a url and it'll import it for you!

PhotoShop Disasters

"Have you seen a truly awful piece of Photoshop work? Clumsy manipulation, senseless comping, lazy cloning and thoughtless retouching are our bread and butter. And yes, deep down, we love Photoshop." This blog is dedicated to the foul ups made around the world by people who think they know what they are doing. It's not the software that is at fault but PhotoShop does however enable these things to happen with regularity. Today the big news was the Microsoft Gaffe, where the image of a black person was doctored with the ghead of a white person. OMG!

Piclens - Cool little firefox plug-in

I came across this neat little plug-in last night.   What it does is take all the images on the page, and puts them into a fly-by-wall type preview allowing you to pan through the images, select and enlarge the image you want.  A few sites like google images, facebook, myspace, flickr and deviantart are already compatable with this plug-in, so I can presume it isn't hard to add the necessary markup to make it work on any site.

You can see a quick example below I made searching for Italy on google images (click for larger picture):

The plug-in is made by cooliris, is around 1Mb to download and you can find more info and a demo here.
