Unity

I have been waiting for this for years... Unity, a 3D game engine and development tool, is finally out for Windows! This incredibly powerful tool creates fully interactive environments and outputs to Mac, PC and even a web player!

It’s been out on the Mac for years, so I’ve had to be patient. But it’s finally here and I shall be exploring the possibilities it opens up. Demos will be posted here soon!

Google, where art thou?

Yesterday I took myself off to Internet World to peek about and hopefully gain some new insights into the artform that is SEO. On the whole the search related seminars were good, although somewhat basic, but they reinforced some main principals while providing the entertainment of watching a few speakers attempt to break the world speed record for fastest presentation delivery! A wholly enjoyable day topped off by the fact it was free entry, although I do have one question...
Google, where art thou?

All I saw of Google was the logo on the notebook i took with me... For a veritable internet colossus i found this odd.

Oh well.

Internet World - needs more depth!

Went to Internet World yesterday and was slightly disappointed with the depth of some of the seminars. I mostly went to the seminars on Usability and to be honest they were pretty basic - make sure you look at what content you have and structure the site before you start design, think about the users of the site etc etc
Even though this was probably targeted at marketing departments surely this is common sense to anyone who is vaguely involved in websites? Maybe the agency day would have gone into more detail and I can't really complain as it was free to attend. But I really was hoping for some useful info....
